Festive Fall Bookmarks to Color for Kids

By Jen

printable fall bookmarks to color title with free printable bookmarks

We have made all kinds of fun bookmarks to colour. We've shared back to school, to celebrate summer, Earth Day and even International Women's Day. I had a whole lot of fun creating these fall bookmarks. In fact, they might be some of my favourite designs. They would make a great addition to any one of our favourite fall chapter books for kids. What do you think of our fall bookmarks to colour?

I love fall. It is definitely one of my top 4 favourite seasons (I have a hard time choosing a fave). The chill in the air means it's a great time to grab a cup of tea, a slice of pumpkin coffee cake, a cozy blanket and a good book. As you know, every good book needs a good bookmark!

Here in Canada fall is all about changing colours of fall. Where we live the trees start to turn in late September and put on a spectacular show all fall long. The colours of fall are totally inspiring. I hope you bring the beauty of fall to these colouring bookmarks.

First up, you will need to print our fall bookmarks. I prefer printing our bookmarks on cardstock. This way they are a little more durable and the pencil crayon colour is always a little brighter. However, you could use regular printer paper and that would work just fine. Whatever you have on hand.

Once you have the bookmarks printed you can either set about colouring them or cut them out first. If you are using these bookmarks in the classroom you will want to have individual bookmarks for each student in the class to colour. Time to add the colour!

I like using pencil crayons, but crayons or markers would be great too. And feel free to embellish the bookmarks with glitter or stickers or stamps. Have fun.

When the colouring is done the bookmarks can be used as they are. I like to adhere the bookmarks to another piece of cardstock. Cut a colourful piece of cardstock a little larger than t the bookmark. Use double-sided tape to adhere the pieces together. I like the added pop of colour and again, this helps make the bookmarks a little stronger. Alternatively, you could laminate the bookmarks.

At this point, the bookmarks are ready to be slipped into your favourite fall book.

How to use your fall colouring bookmarks

These bookmarks make a great gift for kids or adults. Gift a new book, the printed bookmarks and a set of pencil crayons. Or, I know that Grandma and Grandpa would love to receive a bookmark their grandkids have coloured. And, as I said earlier these bookmarks are a fun classroom art activity. A creative way to encourage kids to read.
