Summer Would You Rather Questions for Kids

By Jen

I cannot believe that with all of the epic Would You Rather games that I have created and shared, over the years, I have yet to make a set of summer would you rather questions!? Well, here it is.

Yep, we love creating and asking silly...and thought-provoking...would you rather questions. They are super fun conversation starters and always get the kids laughing. We've created many different holiday-themed games, but a summertime version was begging to be made.

After all, isn't everyone looking for simple games to play in the summer? We love days that are spent playing a big pile of board games and card games. Unplugging from the electronics and putting down the screens is always a challenge over the long summer vacation. Which is why I love this super simple game. I mean, it doesn't get much easier than printing off our (newly updated) Summer Would You Rather Questions for Kids and asking away.

Summer Would You Rather Questions for Kids

All of these family-friendly would you rather questions will have you and the kids hemming and hawing over classic summer situations.

To play along, the first step is printing off our Summer Would You Rather Questions for Kids. You can print them off on regular printer paper or heavy card stock if you like.

Once you have the questions printed, cut them out and pop them inside a bag or a mason jar or a little box...whatever you like. Find a way to carry them with you and keep them out of all the beach sand!

Then, bring out the game when you are hanging with your family. All of our summer would you rather questions revolve around typical summer activities. Here are a couple of examples of the questions you'll have to ponder...

How do you play would you rather with kids?

Would you rather is a game that requires participants to decide between two options. Would they rather this or that? Don't let the answers end with a simple "yes" or "no". Explore the reasoning behind the answers...this is when the fun starts. How will your kid defend their position? Is it the same answer that the rest of the family would make?

There are no right or wrong answers. There are no winners or losers. If you'd like to keep "score" you could give a point to the players who have the most common answers. Or, maybe those players with the least common answer get a point? However you decide to play, you are going to have interesting (funny) conversations with your kiddos.

When to play would you rather?

These would you rather game makes a great addition to those looooong family road trips. We keep a copy in our car's glove box. These questions are the perfect cottage game. Bring out the questions when everyone is gathered around the campfire. Rainy days at the campground are a whole lot more fun with a game to play.

My favourite use of the summer would you rather game is tucking a copy of the questions in your kid's bag as they head off to sleep away camp. What a fun way for kids to get to know each other at camp. Our superhero edition would make a great sleep-away camp game, too.
