A wonderful way to fully support people in the LGBTQ+ community is to find fun ways to celebrate Pride Month. This may be as simple as popping a Pride flag in your yard or maybe you plan on attending one of the many Pride parades taking place during June. I wanted to show my support for this amazing community by creating these Pride bookmarks. Filled with messages of acceptance and love for everyone in our community. My hope if they will be printed and colored with love and joy.
Pride Printable Bookmarks to Color
white cardstock
colorful cardstock
pencil crayons
scissors
double-sided tape
Okay, let's have some rainbow fun! First, print our Pride bookmarks. I prefer printing the bookmarks on white cardstock. This way they are more durable than regular printer paper, and the color of pencil crayons tends to be brighter on cardstock. But, if all you have is regular printer paper then that will work just fine.
Depending on how you plan to use your bookmarks you will either want to use your scissors to cut them into individual bookmarks now or keep them as one sheet of bookmarks. I colored mine on a single sheet and cut them out after I was done coloring. However, if you're a teacher who will be distributing these to a classroom of kids, go ahead and cut them into individual bookmarks.
Now it's time to get coloring! Use pencil crayons, crayons, and markers to color the bookmarks. You can even add glittery glue to the designs. I love all the bright rainbows that are on these bookmarks. Be creative and have fun.
Once the bookmarks are colored in, it's time to add a little extra something to them. I like to add a second layer of cardstock to my bookmarks. I cut a piece of colorful cardstock that is a little larger than the bookmark. Use the double-sided tape to adhere the pieces of cardstock together. This way you have an even more durable and more colorful Pride bookmark to enjoy.
How to Use Your Printable Bookmarks
These bookmarks are great to use in the classroom. During Pride Month you may be planning on reading a few books that celebrate Pride - like this amazing collection of LGBTQ+ books for kids, from No Time for Flashcards. Reading books is an important way to make connections with kids of all ages and taking some time before or after reading the books, to color a bookmark is a creative way to extend the learning.
Our bookmarks also make a fun gift to share. Whether you want to gift a bookmark you have already colored to a friend or gift a sheet of uncolored bookmarks and some pencil crayons. Again, a great way to spread the love.
Finally, these bookmarks are great to keep on hand for a rainy day at home or pull them out during a long family road trip. Kids will love the positive messages and creative designs.
