I mean we love seasonal books around here. We pull out the Halloween books every fall and give them a read. This year I pulled together an updated collection of Halloween books for tweens. These are a little more spooky and exciting than your kids' typical Halloween picture books.

And, what goes amazingly well with a new Halloween book? A Halloween bookmark, of course. These bookmarks are great for gifting or making a fun Halloween classroom activity for students. After all, it's always a great idea to encourage reading...all year round.

Printable Halloween Bookmarks for Kids to Colour

The first step is to download our printable Halloween bookmarks to colour. Then print the bookmarks. We printed ours on heavier cardstock, but you could totally use regular printer paper. I like heavier stock paper because they are a little sturdier.

Next, it's time to cut them out with your scissors and get colouring. Be super creative. You could colour them with pencil crayons, markers, crayons, highlighters, whatever you have on hand. You could even add some glitter glue!

Once the colouring is done they are ready to be used, or you could add one more step. I like to use double-sided tape to adhere our bookmarks to a colourful piece of cardstock. Again, this just makes the bookmarks extra sturdy.

If you happen to have access to a laminator, then go ahead and laminate the bookmarks too. It's not necessary but is a nice idea.

Now, it's time to grab your favourite Halloween book and get reading. Kids are going to love adding these Halloween bookmarks to their books!
