It's always a great time to read a new book. While spring is the time of year when we welcome back all the color, it is also the season of rainy days. When the rainy days arrive it is the perfect time to open up a new book. There are so many good books to read in the spring. And, what does every book need? A bookmark, of course.

colorful cardstock
double-sided tape

First up, print our spring coloring bookmarks. I prefer printing the bookmarks on white cardstock. The heavier stock of paper makes the bookmarks more durable. I also like how much brighter the pencil crayons' colors show up on the cardstock. But, you can use whatever kinds of paper you have on hand.

Next, it's time to get creative with our bookmarks. Grab your pencil crayons and color the bookmarks. You could totally use markers, and crayons to color the bookmarks. Use whatever you like to add all the spring brightness. I like to turn on a springtime playlist and take my time with the coloring.

Finally, I like to add even more color with an additional sheet of colorful cardstock. I like to cut the second colorful sheet a little larger than the bookmark. This additional sheet of cardstock provides a burst of color and even more sturdiness to the bookmarks. Use double-sided tape to adhere the pieces of cardstock together. At this point your bookmarks is ready. However, you could also laminate your bookmark, if you'd like.

These bookmarks are a great rainy day spring activity for kids - I know we have plenty of rainy spring days around here. We also like to gift them to friends and family. Make a gift with new pencil crayons, colorful cardstock, tape, and a printout of the bookmarks. These would be a fun gift for kids and adults too.
