I love sharing fun, engaging, and educational Earth Day activities for kids. It's one of my favorite days of the year and I take every chance I get to encourage everyone to celebrate our amazing planet. Earth Day Word Scramble
Our Earth Day word scramble is filled with 40 words that are related to the environment. You could begin by reading one of the amazing Earth Day books I've shared...either for preschoolers or for older kids. These books will teach readers about the importance of protecting our home planet and the issues that are most concerning when it comes to our environment. They're a great place to start.
Once your kids, or students, have a base of knowledge it's time to try our Earth Day Word Scramble Game . You'll find 40 eco-related terms. A few examples you might find on the list...
- ozone layer
- wildlife
- environmentalist
- extinction
- carbon footprint
Not to worry, I also have the Earth Day Word Scramble Answers Sheet just in case anyone gets stuck on a word. If you are using this Earth Day activity with younger kids you could provide them with the words in advance and have them see if they can pick the words from the list. However, older kids should be able to do the unscrambling on their own.
