March is Women's History Month and International Women's Day falls on March 8th. I am always looking for new ways to celebrate the day, the month, and amazing women. If you've been here for any amount of time you will know that I love making and playing easy word games. In fact, I complete a crossword puzzle every night before I go to bed. I find completing simple word games is relaxing and a simple way to turn off my brain from all the worries of the day. I also love how great playing word games is for kids. I know teachers and parents are always looking for simple (and free) activities for their students and kids. They are a whole lot of fun and educational too.

International Women's Day Word Search
Our Women's Day games are filled with words that are related to remarkable women and the issues related to International Women's Day. The featured words include equality, vote, empower, leader, creative, etc.
These games make a fantastic companion activity to play along with any of the books we've recommended in our IWD booklist and our Women's Day read aloud booklist. I always suggest that people begin with our word search games. The word search game is a great way for kids to become familiar with the words that will be used throughout the three games. Simply print our Women's Day word search game and grab a set of pencil crayons to color the images and circle the words. And don't forget that if you get stuck you can always print our Women's Day word search answer sheet.
International Women's Day Word Jumble
Next up is our Women's Day word scramble game. Working on the word jumble (or word scramble) is a fun way to reinforce the spelling of the words and the sounds of each letter to create the words. My favorite is our Women's Day crossword puzzle. The crossword puzzle pulls everything together. It is filled with words and is also a fun coloring page. The crossword puzzles are fill in the blank questions for this crossword puzzle and I've included a word bank - flip the page upside down and you'll find all the words that fit in the blanks and complete the sentences. Games are a fun activity to support the work you might be doing to educate yourself, your kids, or your students about International Women's Day. The only question is which word game will you start with first?!
