When I was thinking about where to start cleaning, the spot that popped into my mind was the front entrance of our house. When I was in grade 6, my teacher said something that I will never forget “You never get a second chance to make a first impression.” I have carried this phrase with me ever since. It is in the back of my mind when I first meet someone and when I welcome someone into my home. First impressions.
After clearing the space of all the coats, boots, shoes and accessories I then removed the carpet. This line of salt and dirt was left behind.
Five months of winter can be hard on a hardwood floor. Following the label instructions, I cleaned the floor and baseboards with Green Works Dilutable Multi-Surface Cleaner. The line was gone and floor was clean…sweet!
I even used the Multi-Surface Cleaner to remove any marks from the front hall walls. The products didn’t remove my paint or affect the finish of the paint.
During the winter, my front door ends up being kicked by many mucky boots. Do your kids sometimes kick the door instead of knocking? Seriously!
So, the door was in need of a little TLC, Tender Loving Cleaning. This job required 2 products. For the indoor metal door, I used Green Works All Purpose Cleaner and for the glass storm door I used Green Works Glass and Surface Cleaner. Both worked great. The sun now comes shining in and the boot marks are gone.
Finally, I moved back in the spring coats and shoes. The lighter throw rugs made their way onto the floor. HOT TIP: With such limited space at the front entrance we use a small lidded basket to keep our light scarves, gloves, lint brush, hair brush and reusable bags…keeping things contained is key.
So, my entrance looks great. I think we make a pretty good first impression and so did Green Works. I really appreciate that these products are safe for use around my family. I understand that not all households are going to clean with baking soda and vinegar, so I think Green Works is a great alternative in the market place. I discovered that there is a unscented version of most of the products, although I do wish there was an unscented option for all. All in all Green Works will make a nice addition to my spring cleaning routine. How ’bout you? Do you use Green Works products in your home?
