Best Post of 2012

By Jen

I have been thinking long and hard about what I would say was the "best post of 2012". I really had to grapple with what exactly the word "best" meant.  Does best mean most read, most pinned, most commented on or just the one I enjoyed writing the most? These are each pretty different posts. In fact, what you might not know is that often times I will spend days and days struggling to put together a particular post, I will pour everything I've got into it...release it into the world...and it ends up with very few folks reading it. However, it is often the post that takes minutes to put together that gets the best response. No rhyme or reason. It amazes me. However, when I looked back at my stats for this year funnily enough, the post that I loved the most, the one that brought me the most joy, was also my readers favourite.
Build a Library Baby Shower
how to host a baby shower
The most popular post that I wrote this year also happened to be one of my favourites...How to Host a "Build a Baby's Library" Baby Shower. Yep, this post was pinned the most, read the most and loved the most. My sister had a sweet baby this year and I had the idea to host a library themed baby shower. Apparently, a lot of readers are thinking of hosting library themed parties too. This post also introduced you to a lovely computer graphic artist at the Lil' Mop Top. Lil' Mop Top designed our personalized invitations.
Brussel Sprouts
how to eat brussel sprouts
Brussel sprouts? How do you grow them and how do you eat them? These were the questions that many, many readers were asking this year. My brussel sprout recipe is another favourite of mine because we seriously eat brussel spouts once a week. They are so healthy, affordable and completely misunderstood. Think of them as tiny cabbages and your whole attitude toward them changes.
As the clocks announce the beginning of a new year it is fun to look back and see all that we've accomplished and dream of what is to come. Today's post is part of an incredible blog hop that has an amazing collection of bloggers showcasing their best post of 2012. Take a look around and be inspired by the creativity and hardwork of all these amazing writers. Cheers to a healthy and happy 2013!
