It's almost Earth Day...the day we celebrate all things Earthy. We look forward to this day every year. It's an opportunity to reflect on all that the Earth provides us with and all the things we can do to show our love and respect for the Earth.

So, I thought that I would round up some fun ideas and create the Ultimate Earth Day Guide to Earth Day Activities, books, recipes, and more. This collection is a great place to start when celebrating Earth Day with kids.
Great Earth Day Books for Kids

The Earth is Painted Green by Barbara Brenner - We've had this book since my kids were born. It's a delightful book filled with poems and stories about nature's beauty. A real treat for kids of all ages to enjoy.

The Curious Garden by Peter Brown I always think of this book when we walk the High Line in New York City. The story of a boy who plants a garden where no one would ever think beauty could grow...but it does!

The Berenstain Bears Don't Pollute (anymore) by Stan and Jan Berenstain - The Berenstain Bear family is about to learn all about why it is important not to pollute, and they are teaching readers a thing or two as well.
Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert - Lois Ehlert's books are a true celebration of nature. This book explores a garden. Watch the garden grow and burst with colourful flowers.

I love this post and you've given me some new books to add to our wish list. This is the first I've heard of "The Earth is Painted Green" and "The Curious Garden." They sound like the perfect books to share with my girls.
