Looking around, it would appear that some sort of Easter bomb exploded in my house! This is going to take some time to sort out. I'm not sure what happens in your house...but around here, the chocolate stays out for a few days and then magically disappears. I'll toss most of the chocolate into the freezer, for future munching. My friend said she keeps her left over chocolate and uses it for future baking...smart!
The other main event from this past weekend was Earth Day! A big deal around here. I thought I would share with you how to hold your very own Earth Day scavenger hunt. A scavenger is a fun way to entertain the kids on a day out to the park. Here is how we did it.
You will need
brown bags
marker
outdoor space
child safe paint
paint brushes
newpaper
Steps
1. with your marker, write a list of items that need to be found...remember to include picking up garbage on your list
2. head out to the park, yard or whatever outdoor space - take your bags with you
3. collect the items
4. after returning home, grab the newsprint and paint supplies - set up a painting station in your driveway or on your deck
5. pull out the items from the bag and get painting!
6. let the items dry and plunk them into the garden
It doesn't have to be Earth Day to host an outdoor scavenger hunt...any day of the week will do. Remember, using the brown bag gives the kids an easy place to put their loot.

I love your idea of the paper bag scavenger hunt. We LOVE treasure hunts at our house! I still do them with my kids, and they are 22, 20, 16, and 14. We just did one this weekend!! ~Lori
