We are a foodie family. When we plan a vacation the first thing we research are great places to eat. Not only do we love eating good food, we also love making good food. I've been teaching my kids how to cook since they could stand on their own two feet! We take food very seriously, which is what made this food edition of would you rather game so much fun to pull together. I really had to think of some of the most ridiculous food questions. I think you are going to have a whole lotta fun playing along.

The first step in playing is printing our would you rather food questions. We always print our would you rather questions on cardstock. This makes them more durable, especially if you plan on passing the questions around. If you only have regular printer paper, that will totally work.

Once the questions are printed, take a moment to cut out the individual question slips. This way you can share the questions with a crowd. The individual slips of paper can be placed inside a lunch box or at a table place setting.

When the questions are printed and cut into individual pieces it is time to start debating and having fun. Here's a sample of a few of the food-related would you rather questions you'll find in our set.

  • would you rather eat apples dipped in mayonnaise or dipped in barbecue sauce?
  • would you rather sleep on a pillow stuffed with garlic cloves or stuffed with onions?
  • would you rather eat food that is always too cold or always too hot?

How to Play Would You Rather with Kids

There are so many different ways to use our would you rather questions. This is a really fun game to play in the classroom. Divide the students into small groups and print enough copies so that each group has a handful of questions to debate. Then give the kids some time to contemplate their answers and discuss what they think. You can open it up to the class as a whole.

Alternatively, would you rather questions make great writing prompts. Students use one question, come up with their answer and write a paragraph to support their decision.

There are also ways to play at home. Tuck a question a day into your child’s lunch box. They can debate the questions with their friends over lunch break.

I keep a copy (or two) in our car’s glove box and pull out the questions on a long road trip. When everyone starts to get a little bored, start asking would you rather questions and see how the discussions go.

These questions are great conversation starters. Pull out the questions at dinner or place one question card at each person’s place setting at your next family dinner party. Grandma and Grandpa will enjoy debating their answers with their grandkids!

How do you play with our would you rather questions? Leave a comment and let me know!
