Top 10 Reasons to Have a Kid

By Jen

top 10 reasons to have a kid Today is my eldest daughter's 10th birthday! After 10 years I think I've got a pretty good handle on this whole parenting thing...ya, right. So, in honour of my little one's big day I thought I would share my parenting wisdom, with my very own top 10 reasons to have a kid list. Here we go...

Top 10 Reasons to Have a Kid

10. Have a kid and you will finally be the best at something...I have the "best mom in the world" birthday card to prove it.

9. A child is the perfect little person to pass your vast wealth of useless information on to...for instance, everything anyone ever wanted to know about the rise of WHAM!

8. Buckle up that baby and dominate the city sidewalks with your very own MONSTER stroller - you know you want to.

7. Truly understand what the term "sleep deprivation" means - there is a reason that it is used as a torture tactic.

6. Re-discover your enjoyment of bathroom humour - from diapers, thru potty training and beyond - bathroom humour goes a long way.

5. You finally have a chance to renact classic episodes of The Cosby Show and Family Ties with your own children - "I brought you into this world, and I take you out"

4. Gain a crazy understanding and appreciation for your parents, single parents, every parent in the world who ever birthed, adopted or raised a child - seriously.

3. "Legally" park in those sweet family parking spots at IKEA, the grocery store, the mall, etc - just make sure you have the kid with you.

2. Relive your childhood through the eyes of your child - who knew a ride on a swing could be so freaking amazing.

1. 10 years in and you will know that it has been the best 10 years of your life - unconditional love - 'nuff said.

How 'bout you? What is your top reason for having a kid?
