Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays. It brightens up the blahs of February and fills everything with love and hearts. You know how much I love creating printable games and fun Valentine's Day crafts and activities. So, I wanted to make a series of sweet Valentine's Day word games for kids to play...and adults too. I've used a selection of Valentinie (is that a word?) words in our Valentine's Day crossword puzzle, Valentine's Day word search, and Valentine's Day word scramble.

These printable word games are a great way to celebrate Valentine's Day. I designed these particular games to also be cute Valentine's Day coloring pages. Once you're done playing the games it's time to pull out the pencil crayons and color them in. I love this added dimension.

I always like to start with a word search game. Our Valentine's Day word search sheet is filled with simple Valentine's Day related words to search for. Starting with the word search will help kids of all ages learn the words, practice spelling, and read these simple Valentine words. Use your favorite Valentine's pencil to circle the words as you find them. As always, we have also created a printable winter word search answer sheet, so you can quickly see where all the words are hiding.
Then we have our printable Valentine's Day word jumble game. I find that a word jumble is a little more challenging than a word search. Players have to look at the mixed-up letters and work to unscramble the letters to form some of the same words found in the word search. Word scrambles are great for kids who are working on learning letter sounds and writing words. We also have a printable winter word jumble answer key if you need a little assistance.
Finally, we have our super fun printable Valentine's Day crossword puzzle. Again, we are reinforcing the same words we have used in the other games. This is very helpful for early readers. Ways to Play Our Valentine Word Games
Now that you have printed our winter word games you may be wondering how to maximize the fun. There are a few different ways you play with these printable games. One of my favorite ways to play is to cuddle up under a cozy blanket, with a cup of tea and play on a snowy evening. Yep, our word games are fun for adults too.
These games are perfect for long road trips, too. Keep a printed copy in your car and pull it out when you are stuck in a snowy February traffic jam. A fun way to pass the time and beat car boredom.
Of course, our printable Valentine's Day word games are great for the classroom. Whether it’s a snowy recess or taking time to add these games to your Valentine's Day or February literacy units. Kids at various learning levels will benefit from playing these games.
