Happy Anniversary

It has been one year since I first opened up my kitchen and my life to everyone. A year ago I said that life lands on the kitchen counter and I have learned in the last 365 days that yep, it really does. I am so grateful that as I typed people actually read and responded. It's amazing to me that people come back and read what I have to say. This year has been about learning that it is a really great thing to be a mommy blogger. I am proud of what I have accomplished. I truly thank everyone who has clicked on my blog and taken a look around. Amazing.

I have also learned that blogging is about building relationships. I never would have guessed this, it seemed so solitary in the beginning. I know it might sound strange but over the last 12 months I have met some very amazing people...mostly online. In the year ahead I hope to introduce you to more of these people and the work they are doing. For instance...

Today you can find me guest posting over at Toddler Approved! They are hosting the 100 Acts of Kindness Project from Jan 16th - Feb 14th. Today I share a simple and meaningful way to show someone you care about, that you are thinking of them. I call it a winter warm up...couldn't we all use a little warmth and kindness in the winter? Please take a trip over to Toddler Approved where you will find an amazing selection of educational, fun crafts and activities that your kids will truly enjoy.

We are also drawing along with the Bunch Family team in support of the Stephen Lewis Foundation. If you aren't familiar with this fundraising event you can find out more here. Here are pictures of the drawings my daughters have done so far. 4 days down, 26 more to go!

Day 1 - Hero - a detective

Day 2 - Animal - a cat
Day 3 - where does water come from - rain

Day 4 - grandparent - grandma dreaming of her granddaughter

Day 1 - a hero - the red carpet (we had just been talking about the Golden Globes)

Day 2 - animal - peacock
Day 3 - where does water come from - ever the rebel, my daughter ditched the assigned topic and drew a picture of her school friends - that's okay
Day 4 - grandparent - picking flowers with grandma
I love taking part in these projects. And I especially love sharing what I learn with you. Which I suppose was the entire motivation behind writing this blog...sharing.
Thanks for a fun first year at Kitchen Counter Chronicles.
Next week will be all about building up to Family Literacy Day..a week about books!
Have a great weekend.
