Don't you agree? And, pulling out the pencil crayons and printing our back to school coloring pages is a great place to start.

We love coloring activities and have shared a super cute set of back to school bookmarks for kids to color and a set of bookmarks for kids who LOVE to read. These coloring bookmarks are another great activity to celebrate the return to school. When I was a kid, my mom would always gift me a new back to school book at the end of summer. I think these bookmarks would make a great addition to a new book, don't you?

First, you will want to print our coloring pages. I've designed two different options. One says "Welcome Back to School" and the other says "Welcome Back to Class". I've filled each of them with big bubble letters that are fun to color. And, all kinds of school items to get kids excited about the return to school.
One version includes an actual school and school bus. This one reminds me of my youngest daughter. She transitioned to taking a school bus to a new school, in grade 4. I think she would have really enjoyed this school bus coloring page. I find coloring is a meditative activity for kids. If your child or student will be taking a school bus this year sit down alongside your kiddo as they color this sheet and chat about taking the bus. Does your child have any concerns, questions, or thoughts? This is a great moment to open a discussion.
The second version is filled with school supplies. Look for everything you might find inside your backpack and on your desk on this coloring sheet. I used to love going and picking up new school supplies. When I was a kid we would take an inventory of what we already had on hand, sharpen all those pencil crayons, and pop them inside the pencil case. Anything we needed to pick up new would mean taking a little trip to the store...the fun stationary aisle! What school supplies does your child need this year?
While I love using these coloring sheets at home, they also make a great addition to the classroom. Coloring sheets are a creative way for students to spend time during the first few weeks back. And, of course, they would be perfect for those rainy indoor recesses.
