Dr. Seuss Kid Created Rhyming Game

By Jen

dr seuss rhyming game for kids
Part two of February's Virtual Book Club for Kids. Yesterday, I shared a fun design/build game my eldest daughter came up with...inspired by "Marvin K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now". Today, I would like to share the game that my youngest daughter created to go along with the rhyme filled book, "There's a Wocket in My Pocket".
I love the pride and enthusiasm that fills my girls when they come up with their very own activity. After reading a few Dr. Seuss books, my daughter was so excited to explain her final idea. So, here's how to play the wocket in my pocket rhyming game...
1. Take a look around your room and pick a piece of furniture.

2. Imagine a creature that would live on or in that piece of furniture..the trick is the name has to rhyme with the piece of furniture. Sit down and draw the creature with the piece of furniture...name the creature.

3. Place the picture on the piece of furniture.

My daughter came up with four different creatures.

She has even set her sights on coming up with some critters for the living room. I cannot wait to see where she goes from here. What do you think? Do you have any Seussical creatures living in your home?
