Well, you know I love creating free printables and I especially love creating fun printable Christmas games for families and students to play. This time around I wanted to include my love for The Grinch! So, I've created 3 Grinch word games - Grinch crossword puzzle, Grinch word search, and Grinch word jumble.

You might already know that my family has the tradition of reading How the Grinch Stole Christmas every Christmas Eve. We gather around as a family and read the book aloud, passing it around for everyone to take a turn reading a page or two. I've always loved the transformation of the Grinch. And the message that Christmas is less about presents and more about spending time with the people you love.
These printable Grinch word games are great for teachers to use during the holiday season. Games are a wonderful way to engage with kids. At home or in the classroom, watch the film or read the book and then have fun with the printable games.

Grinch Crossword Puzzle
First up is our How the Grinch Stole Christmas crossword puzzle. This one is a lot of fun and a bit more challenging than the other word games. I've used simple words that are associated with the book and the movie. The images on the puzzle are also clues to some of the crossword puzzle answers. Kids have to answer the questions to find the words that fit in the puzzle. I also have a printable Grinch crossword puzzle answer sheet, just in case you get stuck on an answer.
Grinch Word Search
Next up, we have our printable Grinch Word Search. I love playing word search games, even as an adult. Print out enough for everyone in the family or each student in your classroom. Again, I've used easy to identify words that are associated with the movie and the book. I always like to use colorful highlighters when completing a word search. I think a green highlighter would be perfect for this game. Again, I have a Grinch word search answer key too.
Grinch Word Jumble
Lastly, our final word game is our Grinch word jumble game. Kids will need to unscramble the Grinch-related words. Some of these words are a little more challenging, so this is a great activity for older kids to play. And, I have a Grinch word jumble answer key in case the unjumbling gets stuck.
How to Play The Grinch Word Games with Kids
All of our printable games are fun for both the classroom and at home. In the classroom, these games can be played in conjunction with reading the book, How the Grinch Stole Christmas or along with watching one of the various Grinch movies. These games are a fun reading and writing activity for kids of all ages to play.
At home, our printable games make great gifts. Wrap up a set of Christmas pencils or colorful highlighters along with our games as a fun stocking stuffer. Or, the entire family can play at a Christmas party. They are also a great road trip game. Just print the games and pull them out at any time during the holiday season.
