It's time for the kids to head back to class and I've got a fun new back to school activity to share. We love creating and playing printable games with kids. Games are a simple alternative to screen time and this printable back to school ispy game is a fun way to celebrate the return to school.

I've had a whole lot of fun creating printable games over the years. I especially love games that hold a child's focus and are engaging. I have found that games that involve coloring can be more engaging as they require a certain attention to detail and focus. If you put on some music and provide kids with this game you might be surprised at how much fun they have playing this simple game.

Okay, ispy is a super simple game to play. Print and distribute the ispy game to each child or student. Kids then take their time searching, counting, and coloring each back to school item.

This game will have kids looking for and coloring the items they find. They can start by coloring the items in the counting chart, at the lower section of the page. Then use the same colors to help them count up the items.

Once they have colored every item...make sure you get even the smallest items...they can share the number of items they have found. Kids won't even realize they are actually playing a math game. Tallying up the items is a basic math skill and this is a fun way to practice that skill.

Teachers can incorporate this ispy game into art, math, a rainy day recess or free time. Parents can keep a few copies printed and bring them along on a long road trip. Or, bring them out when the kids are complaining about being bored. They also are fun to play along with our other printable back to school games - crossword puzzle, word search, and word jumble.

How many of each item can you find in the ispy game?
