Why do we love word games? I love simple games that everyone can play. Whether you're a little kid, a tween, a teen, or an adult you can totally have fun with these games. I've created 3 different games to print and play. In addition, these are also fun New Year's coloring pages because I've included New Year's related items that can be colored. It's like a built-in bonus activity for each printable.

Okay, the first step is to print off all of the word games and grab a fun pencil for the festivities. These games are great to print and have on hand for your New Year's party. Fill a jar with pencils, and pencil crayons, print a stack of games, and place them on a table. You can either play the games as a group, with a timer or just let people pick them up and play as they like.
First, we have a New Year word search. I love a word search game. Each of these 3 games has common New Year's Eve words. Words that kids of all ages (and adults) will be able to search for. Word searches are a great way for early readers to practice letter recognition and reinforce their reading skills. Don't forget to print the New Year's word search answer sheet too!
Next up, is our New Year's word scramble. Again, the word scramble uses similar words that were searched for in the word search. This is why I love creating 3 word games. The games build on each other. Kids can put to use the words they learned in the first game to complete the word scramble. Then, we have our New Year's Eve crossword puzzle. This crossword puzzle is filled with questions for players to answer and use the answers to fill in the puzzle. Crossword puzzles are a little more complicated, which makes them great for older kids. And, yes we also have a New Year's Eve crossword puzzle answer key.
Each of these word games has illustrations that can be colored by kids - which makes them fun New Year's coloring pages for kids. So, don't forget to provide lots of pencil crayons for the kids to use to color their pages.
