What does the winter look like where you live? Here in Toronto, Canada, winter is usually snowy and chilly from January to early March. The best days are the ones where you wake up to a fresh blanket of snow and the sun is shining. Have you ever taken a nap in the snow? I am telling you if you ever get the chance you have to do it. I love laying in the snow, watching the clouds drift by.

Something I also love about the winter? The opportunity to slow down and read more books. And, any new book needs a new bookmark...right?!

Printable Winter Bookmarks to Colour

I love how our colouring bookmarks combine the creative activity of colouring with the joy of reading a good book. All you have to do is print our winter bookmarks to colour and gather up your colouring supplies. We print our bookmarks on cardstock, so they are a little more durable and the colour really stands out. But, you can totally use whatever paper you have on hand.

Then it's time to colour the bookmarks. These winter ones have all kinds of wintery images...snowflakes, winter animals, a snowman and all the winter gear we need to wear to spend the day outside.

Of course, we had to include many kids' favourite winter saying "do you want to build a snowman?" And, who doesn't love the idea of getting cozy with a book?

Once the bookmarks are coloured you can cut them out and use them or take one extra step. We like to use double-sided tape to adhere ours to a second, more colourful piece of cardstock. You could totally skip this step. It's up to you.

Also, it is fun to gift a new book, a set of pencil crayons and a sheet of our bookmarks to someone you love, so they can colour the bookmarks for themselves. Makes a great snow day activity for kids of all ages...and adults too.
