My birthday falls over the Christmas holidays, and that means I've always been a die-hard Christmas kid. In fact, my favorite part of Christmas is the reindeer. I adore that little group of flying reindeer. I know all the songs and I've dreamt of joining them in the sky on Christmas night. I've also wondered what my reindeer name would be...if I were one of Santa's reindeer?

2 print outs of what's your reindeer name game sheets on the table

It's as easy as printing our What's Your Reindeer Name Game Sheets. I like to print mine on cardstock, so they are more durable. You could print them on a larger sheet of paper and display them in front of the classroom. Or, you could print them on regular printer paper and simply pass them around to the class.

I also love the idea of making this into a reusable reindeer game. If you have access to a laminator, you could laminate the game sheet. Then students, or children, or anyone, could use an erasable marker to discover their reindeer name. This way, you could simply print one copy and everyone could participate.

second version of a printable what's your reindeer name game sheet on table

I've created 2 different variations of the game. To offer up a little variety to the game. First up is the version that uses your birth month and the first letter of your last name. Simply circle the reindeer name that corresponds with each of the questions to come up with your name. I've also included a line where anyone can write their reindeer name.

The second version will have participants using the first letter of their first name and the month they were born. This little switch means that you can have participants use a whole new variety of name combinations.

How to Expand the Learning and Play with the Reindeer Name Game

Now that your child knows their reindeer name, what can they do with this newfound information? Well, there are plenty of ways to extend the learning and play. First, kids can make a name plate for their desk, with their new name. Decorate the name plate and write out the new name. Next, students could draw a picture of what they think they might look like as a reindeer. Will they add a red nose? What will their antlers look like? How will they incorporate their reindeer name into how they look? Finally, kids can take their new reindeer name and write a story about their new reindeer personality. Maybe their reindeer story could include their life at the North Pole, playing reindeer games, or going to school as a reindeer.

However, you choose to use the What's Your Reindeer Name? game I hope you have fun with this silly little reindeer game.
