Summer Memories Wrap Up

By Jen

Welcome to the Outdoor Play Party. We are excited to introduce you to our newest co-host Happy Hooligans. Head on over and check out this fun blog where kids are always playing, creating and learning with a smile on their faces. Welcome Happy Hooligans! Now, on with the party.

Don't you just love holding on to those glorious summer vacation memories? I know I do. Even though the weather around here is still quite warm, there is nothing like summertime. My favourite place in the world might just be the Toronto Island. This is a place that I have been visiting since I was a little girl. I remember walking the beaching dreaming of growing up to become a famous author...hasn't quite happened yet. If you have never been to the Toronto Island before it is an absolute must see on your next visit. Take a look at these pictures from our trip this summer with our girls, their scooters and the sunshine.

The girls could not get over the sign that said "Please, walk on the grass"...really?! Yes, the island is an outdoor play dreamland. There are hardly any cars (just service vehicles) so riding bikes and scooters is a breeze. We can't wait to head back this fall and explore the island when the leaves on the trees are all yellow, red and orange. A true oasis in the midst of a busy city.

Last week's Outdoor Play Party was packed with great ideas, thanks for linking up! I especially loved seeing how people have been learning outside. I have actually been encouraging my girls to do their homework in the backyard. It is so nice to sit outside and write...inspiring.

Famiglia and Seoul focused on sharpening their fine motor skills playing outdoors with rocks.

One Great Backyard shared some great ways for kids to unwind outdoors after a busy day at school.

So many fabulous outdoor activities and stories linked at the last outdoor play party. If you were featured this week, go ahead and grab our "Featured at the Outdoor Play Party" button for your site.

This looks such a wonderful place to visit. I spent a summer working in Toronto & loved going to centre island, it felt like a complete world away from the city. Kierna

I love that you're from my neck of the woods! So few co-bloggers do! lol Great photos of your trip to the island! We were there a few years ago with the boys. It was the first time I'd been in years. What a great place to spend the day.
