Great Camp Adventure ~ A Family Friendly Fundraiser

logo for sickkids the great camp adventure

The folks at the Hospital For Sick Children have found a way to totally re-invent a typical fundraising event with their upcoming Canaccord Genuity Great Camp Adventure.  The Great Camp Adventure is like no other fundraising walk. Take all the fun of summer camp - plunk that summer camp in the middle of the city - add in fundraising for a great cause - and you have The Great Camp Adventure.

So, what is the Canaccord Genuity Great Camp Adventure all about? Well, the participants become "campers" and campers belong to teams, or "cabins." Instead of going for a straight forward 20km walk, campers go from camp activity to camp activity. While walking the 20 kms campers will take part in different camp-themed activities.  The best part about this event is how kids of all ages can participate.  If  campers get tired along the way, there will be plenty of spots to stop and grab some grub. If a camper can't make it to the end of the walk the camp bus will happily return campers to base camp at Fort York. This really is a fabulous way for families to make memories and make a difference together.

The Hospital for Sick Children treats around 100,000 children every single year. SickKids is the leading paediatric centre in Canada, not only in terms of treatment, but in terms of research. The money raised from The Great Camp Adventure, 100% of the money raised, will go to the Possibilities Fund at SickKids. The funds will go toward urgent needs areas at SickKids Hospital; programs, equipment, infrastructure, etc.

Our little family counts our blessings that we have never had to bring one of our children to The Hospital for Sick Children. However, we have known families that have received world class care at SickKids. Knowing that this hospital exists and continues to do incredible work for the community is amazing and comforting. Taking part in the Canaccord Genuity Great Camp Adventure is a wonderfully fun way to support SickKids.
