Glittery Twig Star Decorations

twig star decoration

Here we go with another simple twig decoration. We loved making our twig peace signs so much that I kept the glue gun hot and created these fun stars. Our outdoor urns were looking a little empty and I knew that we could add the sparkle they were missing.

First, I used the glue gun and garden shears to chop up twigs and create stars. We made three different sizes (small, medium and large) for each urn…six stars in total.

Next, my girls painted the twig stars with white glue.

Then, my girls sprinkled on red, silver and snowy glitter. They sprinkled the glitter over a large tray so that the excess glitter could be caught and used over and over again.

Finally, I used the glue gun  to attach each star to the end of a branch.

The branches were slipped into the urns and now the urns look perfect. When I asked my girls what they liked best about our outdoor decorations this year, they both agreed that the stars look spectacular!

Love these twig stars. So want to make them with the kids at some point. And the glitter does add that extra sparkle (no pun intended..)
