How Martha Stewart Is Helping Me Get Organized for the Holidays

By Jen

getting organized for the holiday

The kids have reminded me that there are only 21 days until Christmas...21 days. How can there only be 21 days to go? I think I have 3 gifts purchased. Seriously, I need some help. So, when a gigantic package filled with Martha Stewart Home Office Supplies arrived courtesy of Staples I jumped at the opportunity to really get organized. Often times all it takes is a little organization to make things in life run smoother. The question was how could I best utilize these supplies and adapt them for my holiday planning purposes. Thanks to the versatility of Martha Stewart's designs, this was pretty simple to do.

After taking inventory of the amazing assortment of products, I had to decide where to start. The fundamental place to start for the holidays has got to be the wish lists of each person in our house. I took ahold of the pocket sized accordion folder.

I labelled each section of the folder with the name of a member of our family and made a general section for "family", our other family members. I then placed each wish list in the corresponding folder. With this in my purse I can easily track what I have purchased, what I need to purchase and I can keep the receipts together in one safe place. Try as I might, there might be a few items that need to be exchanged after the holidays and I will need those receipts.

With the gift purchasing organized, I then looked at how I could best use the other items to help ease my holiday anxieties. I spotted the adhesive chalkboard labels and found a fun way to use them to personalize a handmade gift.

After adhereing the label to the glass jar, I wrote a simple message for the recipient. The great thing is that the chalk can be erased, the label is removable and the label can be changed over and over again.

Another fun addition to our holiday home decorating was the adhesive white board.

Placed near our front door, this white board is a fun way to welcome guests over the holiday. It is also a great way to send a gentle reminder to my kids that they had better be on their best behaviour.

Perhaps my favourite was Martha Stewart's adhesive fabric labels. I make a lot of handmade gifts for the holidays. These washable labels are perfect for writing a message inside hand sewn gifts...like blankets.

I must say that with 21 days to go until Christmas I'm feeling fairly confident that I can get everything done on time. The best part is that after the holidays these Martha Stewart Home Office products will help me to tackle my number one New Year's resolution...be more organized. Isn't that on everyone's resolution list? These products are not only useful, but they are well designed and versatile. Bring on the New Year!

Disclosure: I received Martha Stewart Home Office products as compensation,  from Staples, for writing this post and for sharing my honest opinion.
