Christmas is a great time to play games with the kids. I've created two different versions of a free printable Christmas I Spy game. The first version is colorful and the second one is for you to color. I have so much fun creating printable Christmas games and love seeing kids playing these games all holiday long. Be sure to check out all of our free printable games for kids

I don't know about you, but there are times during the holidays when I need a break. The kids are hyped for the holiday and I need some time. This is when I love bringing out our Christmas I Spy games. The kids can hunt through the worksheet looking for each item, counting them, and even coloring them!

Simply print the game sheets and grab some pencil crayons or markers and you are ready to play. If you haven't ever played the I Spy game before here is how to play with the colored version.

Each child has a worksheet. The bottom of the sheet has an example of each item they will find in the search area. You will find a line beside each festive item. This is where the kids will write the total number of each item they found. The line is long enough for the kids to use the space to tally up the items or to simply write the total.

The Christmas I Spy game that is in color is quicker to play, as the items only need to be circled and don't need to be colored. As the players hunt around the field of Christmas items, they can circle the items as they are found. Kids won't even realize they are playing a math game.

However, if you have a little more time (or need a longer break) then the Christmas I Spy game to color is the option for you. The players begin by coloring the holiday items in the bottom of the sheet and then they color and count up all the items. You can see how we've started with counting up all the super cute Santa cats. Once the player has colored and counted each Santa cat they can move on to the next item.

As with all of our printable Christmas games, this I Spy game is great for the classroom. Teachers can incorporate them into math class, art class, or free time. I also love keeping our printable games in the car, on a clipboard, for long holiday road trips. There always seem to be plenty of road trips over the holidays, right?! And, of course, this game is a fun way to keep the kids entertained at a holiday party.

Which one will you print and play?!
