3 Simple Recipes for Homemade Iced Tea

By Jen

The heat is back. It's been a quick transition from spring to hot summertime weather this week. So, I'm in the mood for some iced tea. I've dusted off this post about how to make homemade iced tea from the archives. homemade iced tea recipes
There is something refreshing and invigorating about iced tea. Heat can really wear you out - tea helps pick you up. While I am also a huge fan of lemonade, for today iced tea is where it's at. Here is how I made iced tea 3 different ways.
My favourite part of these recipes is that all of the fresh ingredients come from my garden. Look around at the herbs you are growing and think about how you can use them in teas - hot or iced.

I used my large Pyrex glass measuring cup to steep the hot tea in, it is helpful because it is heatproof and has a pouring spout. If you prefer a sweetened tea, add a teaspoon of honey to any of the teas. Be sure to add the honey when the water is hot, so it totally dissolves. The honey will melt into your tea - taste and add more if you wish.

I also added a few frozen raspberries to the teas. You can freeze any berry by laying, in a single layer, on a baking sheet and freezing it. You can even freeze pitted fruit by slicing them up and laying them on a baking sheet in a single layer. Can't wait to freeze some fresh Ontario peaches and add them to drinks all fall long! 3 Simple Iced Tea Recipes

Do you love sweetened iced tea or unsweetened iced tea? Or are you more a fan of lemonade?
