Outdoor Skate VI - Nowhere to be found...

By Jen

Well, the good news is that the City strike was averted and a deal was struck. The bad news is that we didn't get out to the rink this week. We have been so busy with birthday parties around here that we had a hard time finding...well...the time. This doesn't mean we haven't been thinking about skating, we have. We know where we are planning on going to skate. Sometimes life gets in the way, right. Here is a quick video of my girls skating skills. Makes me smile.

This week, we have traded in our skates for our sleds. Despite the lack of snow, we are moving full steam ahead with my daughter's sledding themed birthday party this Saturday. I'll share all the details next week, but for today I thought I would share the invite we created. I always struggle to come up with new and inventive ways to make an invitation. This year I took an approach that can really work for any birthday event.

Copy and paste a black and white image of kids sledding onto a sheet of white card stock (I found the image I used here).

Print out the details of the party on a separate piece of card stock. Cut out and glue to the inside of the card.
Include a small pack of crayons. In the end you have an invitation that can be coloured by the recipient.

I can't wait to share all the other ideas we came up with for this crazy sledding party. Fingers and toes crossed that we actually get some snow!!!
