March Break - to do list

My eldest daughter proclaimed this morning that "Last year we had the worst March break ever!" Yikes! To explain...last year my youngest daughter became sick on the first day of March break and was sick all...week...long. My eldest daughter and I had to find entertaining things to do in the house...between cleaning up barf. Fun! We created a puppet theatre, drew many pictures, read many books and baked a lot of cookies. The only redeeming moment came at the end of the week. My husband was able to get home early so that my eldest daughter and I could hop on the streetcar and head downtown to dinner and the bookstore. This one evening together spawned a beautiful book titled "The Night of The Dinner ". Here's an exerpt from the book.
the cover of the book

"They went to Chapters. Madeline picked out a Melanie Watt book.
Jen picked out a design magazine."

This year...we are hoping for a healthy family and some time outdoors! Here are a few options for indoor and outdoor entertainment.
1. Canada Blooms - March 15 - 20th at the Direct Energy Building
2. Beaches Library Branch - Toronto Public Library
Spring Fling: Stories and Crafts
Mon - Fri @ 2-3pm
3. Toronto Zoo - African Rainforest Pavilion renovations are complete!
4. ROM - Water: The Exhibition
exhibition includes; water sculpture, live creature displays and canyon walk
5. Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival - Kortright Centre
6. Check out some of the blogs that I love for crafty inspiration, The Crafty Crow,
My Insanity, Pink and Green Mama or Active Kids Club.
5. Craft/Bake Day
6. St.Patrick's "All Green" Day
Hope this list gives you some interesting ideas. Of course, don't forget to check in here to see what we are up to! What are your plans for March break??
