I have a lifelong love of the Grinch. I grew up awaiting the airing of the beloved How the Grinch Stole Christmas movie every holiday season. Then, when I had kids of my own I added the book to our Christmas Eve traditions. Every Christmas Eve we gather and read How the Grinch Stole Christmas and T’was the Night Before Christmas as a family. It’s a lovely tradition. So, when I was considering what new Christmas games I wanted to create this year, I finally decided to make a set of Grinch Christmas bingo cards.

our Grinch bingo cards (8 cards and 1 instruction card)
cardstock (or regular printer paper)
scissors
bingo daubers
a Santa hat
Grinch stickers
laminator

Begin by printing our 8 Grinch bingo cards. I like to print all of our game cards on cardstock because it is more durable than regular printer paper. But, you can totally use whatever you have on hand. Another great idea is to laminate the game cards. Laminated game cards can be played over and over again. There are 8 different cards in this set.

You will also need to print the instruction card. The instruction card is where you will find all of the items that are on the bingo cards. Cut out each item and pop them inside a Santa hat, or a bag of some sort.

How to Play Grinch Bingo

Distribute the Grinch bingo cards to everyone who will be playing the game. Each player will need a way to mark their cards. If you have laminated the cards then you can use a dry-erase marker and if you haven’t laminated the cards then use a traditional bingo dauber or you could also use Grinch stickers.

One player will be the “bingo caller” – they will reach inside the Santa hat and pull out an item, one at a time, and call the item out to the group. If a player has the item on their card, they mark it off on their bingo card. The first player to have a complete line marked off is the winner!

I love the idea of gifting the winner with a copy of How the Grinch Stole Christmas book or maybe a cute Grinch stuffy. Or, maybe they just win the satisfaction of winning!

When to Play Grinch Bingo

This game is fun to play at a Christmas party – for kids or adults. It is fun for the classroom too. Break the classroom into groups of 9 and each group can play an individual game.

I also love the idea of printing the Grinch bingo game and gifting it to friends for Christmas. Package up the cards and the bingo dabbers into a fun Christmas bag as a simple gift.

However you choose to play, I’m sure you’ll have a blast with the Grinch and all of his friends.
