Come sow with me - planting with purpose

Every year we head to the garden centre, pick out our plants, plant them in our gardens and grow beautiful healthy food. Even if we didn't grow our own food there are many grocery stores and markets within walking distance of our home where we could easily purchase healthy food to eat. It is very hard to imagine our lives not being like this. It is hard to imagine living without access to healthy food.

In May, the next G8 Summit will be held, among the many topics being discussed will be agriculture in the developing world. ONE is an international non-profit organization, co-founded by Bono, that is hoping to make agriculture a top priority for the G8 Summit. One Mom Bloggers are asking people around the world to add their voices to the fight against poverty.

So, yesterday my daughter and I planted a seed in our kitchen, while discussing the agricultural challenges facing those in the developing world. Last year we planted our seeds in egg cartons and toilet paper rolls. Here is how we did it. This year we are planting a variety of seeds; herbs, tomatoes, corn and peas . We decided to plant 3 snow pea seeds in support of ONE.

What can you do to show your support?

Sow one - Show your commitment to agriculture in the developing world by planting a seed at home.

Send one - Sign ONE's Thrive campaign petition. You will be adding your name and your support to help Thrive reach their goals.

Ohhhh I love the eco seedling planters. We're reusing old pots as have so many from when we did part of our gardens as got all the plants as seedlings for planting.
