Search for Signs of Spring Printable Book for Kids

By Jen

spring scavenger hunt printable booklet

The seasons have changed and with the changing seasons comes a change in our activities. We love taking inspiration from the seasons and the books we are reading. Lately, we have been exploring the work of children's author Marcus Pfister. Our printable spring booklet is a celebration of the arrival of spring and one of our fave spring printable activities.

You are probably most familiar with Pfister's award-winning book, Rainbow Fish. I think this book is required reading for all pre-schoolers. While in the library last week we picked up another Marcus Pfister book, Hopper Hunts for Spring. Since we have been eagerly awaiting spring's arrival this book seemed like the perfect choice.

We know that spring is almost here. This sweet book follows Hopper the bunny as he goes looking for "spring"...he's a little confused and thinks that spring is an animal...not a season. Hopper got us thinking about all the little signs of spring that we have been waiting for and searching for in our garden and in our neighborhood. With my girls, we created a search for spring booklet printable.

Start by printing off our search for spring booklet. Once you have the booklet printed out, the kids can cut out each little page and staple the booklet together. Each page has something to search for outside this spring and a space to draw the object.

I plan on printing off a few of these booklets and keeping them in my purse to have on hand when we are out and about this spring. We could even collect some of the items and tape or glue them inside the booklet. It would be lovely to have a spring flower taped to the "spring flower" page...maybe don't tape a bird's nest though.

This booklet is a fun way to engage kids outdoors...take a walk in your neighborhood and see what you can find. Don't forget to be creative and fill the blank pages will anything else that makes you think of spring.
