Outdoor Play Party: Dandelion Tic-Tac-Toe

By Jen

I am very excited to be starting a new outdoor adventure on the blog today. Every other Friday I will be co-hosting the Outdoor Play Party along with Mama Pea Pod, Greening Sam and Avery, The Golden Gleam and Learning for Life. If you haven't before, please hop over and check out these amazing sites. We truly value outdoor play in our house...we make it a priority. That's why I am so thrilled to be able to share an incredible selection of outdoor play posts with all of you. So, let's get this party started by taking a look at how my family played outside this week.
Isn't it funny how sometimes you find yourself outside, where all the world is your playground and yet the kids are looking to you for entertainment! This very thing happened to our family last weekend when we landed in the park. We were enjoying a beautifully sunny holiday Monday exploring our neighbourhood when the need for some creativity struck. So, we made our own game, dandelion tic-tac-toe!
All we needed were 4 long dandelion stems...

...4 fluffy dandelion heads and 4 flowering dandelion heads.

Instantly a game was started. Lots of giggles followed.

Now, here is how this Outdoor Play Party works. Please link up your outdoor play posts in the linky below. We would love for you to include a link back to this post (in your sidebar or in your post) to help us spread the word about the importance, and fun, of outdoor play. Feel free to grab the Outdoor Play Party button and proudly display it on your blog. We will happily share your post on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. In addition, by contributing you are giving permission for an image and link to your post to be republished if you are featured. If you have been featured, please feel free to grab the "featured at" button. Next time I will be featuring a couple of my favourite posts from this week's party! Let the Outdoor Play Party begin!

Cute. My daughters are obsessed with dandelions. This looks the perfect way to distract them next time we're waiting for the bus.
