It is almost mid-March which means it is time to get ready for starting seeds indoors. The last couple of years we have been enjoying starting seeds on our kitchen window sill. This winter, we have been dreaming about what herbs and vegetables we want to grow in our garden this season. One decision I have already made is that I would love to grow plants that can be used to make tea. I love tea and would love to grow my own. So, here is a selection of plants we are thinking about growing for a tea garden...
What to Grow in a Home Garden
We also love growing herbs. There is something quite satisfying about growing a plant that can be dried and used all year long. We are still using the thyme and oregano we dried last fall...it has lasted all winter. Here's a great selection of herbs that are perfect for any simple kitchen garden...
Finally, we have put together a list of vegetables that everyone in our family would love to eat this summer. Each of my daughters picked a few vegetables and here is the list of easy-to-grow vegetables for any vegetable garden...
So, now we are off to find the seeds for the plants we want to grow. At this time of the year there are a number of seed sharing events going on throughout our city. Garden centres are also great locations to pick up seeds. And don't forget your local horticultural societies...they have great seeds and seedlings to offer. Can't wait to get some seeds and get planting.
What vegetables are you planning on growing this year? Have you ever grown a tea garden?

We've been doing that this week as well :). Do have to ask what is feverfew I've never head of it.
I love the idea of a tea garden as well I'm a big fan of fruit teas so may look into whether I can grow those.
We've got Basil, Rosemary, Lavendar, Chives, Oregano, coriander, mint, sage, parsley, thyme and fennel - but I want to extend that further.
Vegetables - we're looking at some heritage variieties of peas and beans, carrots, potatoes, garlic, onions, raddish, salad leaves, tomatoes, aubergines, peppers, cucumbers, squash, courgettes and pumpkins

Sounds like your garden is going to be full and delicious. Feverfew is an herb that is used to make an anti-migraine headache tea. I suffer from migraines and growing my own is an alternative to taking supplements. I'm planning on writing a post about feverfew. Thanks for stopping by Cerys.

Oh I LOVE the idea of a tea garden! Fennel makes a lovely tea too...oh the possibilities!
We're growing tomatoes, salad, squash, beans, mange toutes, spring onions, spinach and chard...and anything else which we just can't help ourselves from bunging in!

Yes, I am very excited about growing a tea garden. I was thinking about growing fennel too. Thanks for stopping by.

ooh a tea garden 🙂 We will be growing a few different things - some easy for DD to plant like potatoes, onions (sets), beans. Along with the veg and herbs we grow marigolds to help pest control, sunflowers for the birds and a few others that bees/butterflies like - they all help with pest control too.
Have fun with the seed choosing
